I asked Grandma C once if we had any pioneer ancestors- she laughed at me and then said "well yes". That was all I got from her and all knew until I decided one day to research it. Might I say WOW!! I know why she laughed. Almost every line on the Corbridge and Nessen side lead back to one! Yea! This is my list I compiled for my history book. This is Butterworth Hall as it looked in 1840. One of my great great grandfathers was born here in 1775. His name was James Butterworth and he died in 1832. He was maried to Alice Howarth 1775-1847. Both are buried in England. This hall has since burnt down I am told.
