Elliot Butterworth Boys

Above is a photo of Elliot Butterworths oldest sons. George, Parley Austin and Leonard Lee Butterworth.

William Lee

This picture is of William James Lee (1860-1877) He is the son of George Lee (1824) and Sarah Peaker Lee. He died at the age of 17.

Elizabeth Jane Lee Corbridge

Did you know that two of William Corbridges sons married sisters? I was looking through my geneology and ran accross familiar names. My gr gr gr grandfather was William Corbridge(1810). His son John married Hannah Lee(b 1847) , and his son William married her sister Elizabeth Jane Lee (1854) (Whose picture is above). So, funny as it is- if you follow where I am going- Hannah and Elizabeths sister Fanny married my gr gr grandfather on my mothers side. So the families seem to be intertwined all over the place. Crazy to keep track of huh?

Sarah Marshall and George T Marshall -- Pioneers

This is one of the many photos I have of Sarah Marshall. She appears with some but not all of her children. The only ones I know for sure are Tryphena second from the left on top and George T. is first on the front next to his mother Sarah. George T. would be my great great grandfather. Sarah Marshall my great great great grandmother. George T. was 5 when his mother brought the children across the plains with the Ellsworth Handcart Company in 1856. Because of sheer determination, Sarah Marshall was the first member of any handcart company to enter the Salt Lake Valley. There is a plaque in her honor on the wall in the basement of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Museum in Salt Lake.



During George T. Marshall's life he served in Franklin Idaho as a law officer. If anyone has any more information about this please let me know. The picture above shows what is believed to be his guns he used as a lawman.

Thomas Nessen

This photo is of Thomas Nessen. At this time I believe he was widowed. If anyone in the family has any other information about when or where this was taken, please let me know.

Nessen Children

Here is a photo of all of Thomas and Maria Nessen's children. They are Thelma, May, Elaine, Ada, Tommy, and Lola.

We were sooo excited to find this picture!! This is the only photo that I know of where Maria and Thomas Nessen are shown together. Maria died at a young age, when her youngest daughter (my Grandma Lola Nessen Corbridge) was only 9 years old. My grandma looked alot like her mom.

I asked Grandma C once if we had any pioneer ancestors- she laughed at me and then said "well yes". That was all I got from her and all knew until I decided one day to research it. Might I say WOW!! I know why she laughed. Almost every line on the Corbridge and Nessen side lead back to one! Yea! This is my list I compiled for my history book. Again, just doulbe click on it to see a clear version.

For those of you realted to me on the other side- I will post a likewise fabulous one for my moms side of the family later.

This is Butterworth Hall as it looked in 1840. One of my great great grandfathers was born here in 1775. His name was James Butterworth and he died in 1832. He was maried to Alice Howarth 1775-1847. Both are buried in England. This hall has since burnt down I am told.

Elliot Butterworth 1853 - 1939

Elliot Butterworth was my Great Great grandfather. He was born in England in 1853. In About 1869, at the age of 16, he traveled with his mother , sister Alice and Lizzie Butterworth to America and then to Utah to be with the Mormon Saints. His father came later. He married Fanny Lee in 1880 and they had thirteen children, four of whom died at very young ages. In 1819 he founded the Franklin relic Hall in Franklin, Idaho. He lived to be 86 and died in 1939.

William Corbridge and Ellen Parker Corbridge

This is the grave marker for William Corbridge 1810 - 1888 and Ellen Parker Corbridge 1817-1906 in the Franklin Cemetery. They were Mormon pioneers that came to Utah in the John Parker Company in 1852.

A New Blog... Hannah Corbridge

My thoughts for this blog are that I can post some of my family history information about my deceased family members. I know there are people with which I am distantly related that my find something here of interest. So here goes....

This is the stone for Hannah Lee Corbridge 1847-1922 Married to John Corbridge
1842- 1936 They had a total of 11 children.
